My love for Fashion started at the age of 6. From this age, I started sewing with needle and thread. My dolls were the best dressed. Little did I know that this gift and talent would save me at different seasons of life.
6 miscarriages – – Still born twins — – 8.5 months in hospital (had eclampsia) — – Disabled for 4 years — – Was on morphine for 6 months — – Wore a body brace for 2 years — Weighed 150kg, waiting to explode! — Was depressed
But fashion helped to heal my mind
I underwent a profound transformation by turning inwards and renewing my mind with God’s help. When I hit rock bottom, I realised that I needed to rediscover my passion for styling and fashion. I was fortunate to be accepted into St Martins to study fashion styling. While pursuing my course, I diligently worked on envisioning the kind of woman I aspired to be and revamped my style by revamping my existing wardrobe.
Starting with the clothes in my closet, armed with a needle and thread, I made alterations to my clothes to better fit my body shape at the time. Today, I am committed to helping others do the same. I want to show other women, through my own journey from a breaking point to becoming a fashionista, that it is possible to find hope and reset your life. It’s also possible to live a life of freedom that you’ve long wished for.
